Yep it's true

Yep it's true, we are expecting a baby in June. We are way excited and nervous to say the least. It has been a wild ride so far but worth it to get this little one here. Looks like I will be getting some time off this summer :)

Early Morning Hours

Lately in the EARLY MORNING HOURS I get this visitor in my bed
Sadie is my dog who LOVES to cuddle in the morning. This morning she thought it would be fun to
cuddle at 3:30 A.M. Not so much fun for me but it was worth it. After I got up to get ready for work
she scooted over closer to Brett to get him to pet her.

Pixie, kobold, elf and sprite,
All are on their rounds tonight;
In the wan moon's silver ray,
Thrives their helter-skelter play.
Happy Halloween!

Dusty

Dusty is one of the hardest dogs we have had next to Kaiser that is.  He is full of life and energy. On Friday I put a University of Utah quilt on to tie and he was NOT pleased to say the least. He was so mad that he used his nose to flip it over. Needless to say I wasn't happy about it. Anyway I went to my parents house with Sadie so she could see my dad ( this has become a nightly thing for her) and when I got home this is what I found.
We have titled this picture "Give me the bone and nobody gets hurt."  He is VERY possessive about his bones. If he doesn't get it right when he gets downstairs there is some serious trouble. The other picture happens about every night
Notice how he is licking his lips while he has a green tomato in his paws.
Dusty you are one Happy Crazy puppy and we love having you in our home.

FINALLY!!!

FINALLY! Why do you ask I start out with that? Well last week we finally got our new dishwasher :) I am so happy. The new people who installed it were on time and very nice. When Brett got home from work the first thing he said was "WE HAVE OUR COUNTER SPACE BACK!" followed by "I DON'T HAVE TO HELP WASH DISHES ANYMORE?" I started laughing and told him no. I am proud to say that all of my calling and talking/yelling at the home warranty company finally paid off. I filled the extra counter space up with this:
I LOVE to bake, I use this little(well not so little) gadget a lot. It makes it SO much easier when I make cookies and other fun stuff.

Oh Yeah!

Two things for today's post.
First off when I got home last night and got the mail there was a teen vogue in the mailbox with my name on it. This isn't the first time I have gotten one. I didn't sign up for them they just randomly started appearing. Well when I looked on the cover I knew who I was going to give it to, you see it had Justin Bieber on the cover. I instantly recalled a conversation Ashley and I had on Saturday. She was telling me about all the things she had gotten for her birthday and she got so excited when she told me about this Justin Bieber thing that she got. So I put the magazine next to my purse to take down to her. Well I had to go to my parents house last night to help my dad out and I called Marla to tell her that the magazine would be there and she let me hear Ashley, Sarah and Charlies reactions. It was PRICELESS.

Second, this morning on my way to work I got off the bus grabbed a little orange flag and began crossing the street. Traffic going south stopped for me and a car going north stopped. No sooner did I get almost to the end of the car there was another car who zoomed past didn't even stop. If I hadn't have been paying attention I would have been hit. The guy was going faster then the speed limit too. Good thing there was a cop in front of him. I hope he got pulled over.

Hard...

I have had a rough couple of months. I know I said I was going to be more positive but today I am going to not be so positive. I have tried to let things slide off of me and but some things happened recently and it has bothered me a lot. I have a hard time with people who tell me that I am selfish because we don’t have children. I know that these people have NO CLUE what we have been through to try and have children. I have to go the doctor once a month and it’s not fun at all. I do know that it’s not on my time table, but it’s hard.  It has brought me closer with my husband and my Heavenly Father. I do know that my Heavenly Father knows how hard it has been on us. I have very little tolerance for people who are buddy-buddy with you one minute and the next minute treat you like crap. If you have a problem with me I would much rather know about it then hear it from someone else.  Oh and our dishwasher STILL isn’t fixed.  My headaches aren’t as bad and now they only come once a month for 10 days.  We have the most wonderful and supporting parents ever. Thanks to all of them for their love and support the past couple of months. We love you!

Well....

About 4 weeks ago I called our home warranty company because our dishwasher was having some issues. It smelled like burning plastic and it wasn't draining.  So they give me a claim number and tell me that someone will call me. The company did call and the service man said he would be out the following Friday between 10 and 12.  He didn't show up until 2. Lets just say I wasn't pleased. He looked at our dishwasher and told me I was up in the night about it not draining and that the heating element was broken and he needed to order the part. He turned the dishwasher on and halfway through the cycle it stops and wouldn't drain. I tried to call the service man to have him come back and he wouldn't answer his phone. 3 weeks after that first appointment(and me calling the home warranty company) he comes back.  THIS time he tells me that we have a leak and our dishwasher has to be replace. Which I am fine with if he would have told us this 4 weeks ago. So here we are 4 weeks with NO dishwasher-except for me, waiting for the home warranty place to call so we can get a new one ordered. I will be SO glad when we get our new one.

Random

I had this little girl come and visit me at work today. It was a nice surprise, my mom is watching her and had to run some errands downtown so she dropped her off to spend some quality time with me at work. She is such a cute sweet girl, she had all of us laughing.

I love buying things off of Amazon and get the free 2 day shipping.
I got 3 new books shipped to me overnight.
I love to read and spending time with the Dogs.

I don't understand why people have to be rude all the time.
I LOVE the new T.V. series The Glades, it's way funny.
I have seen more moods come out of me the past 4 months than I EVER wanted to.
I don't know who is going to wake up Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde, or a Alien.
My mood for right now is Happy.
I heard a word the other day and loved it it's grumpitude.
I am very grateful for Brett and him putting up with my moods.
I am ready for the weekend.
I am not a fan of all the headaches I have been getting lately. I am not sure they even go away it's like a dull ache or screaming pain.
I know this is random and you are probably thinking what in the, but this is how I have been thinking lately.

Sneak Peak!

Saturday was a blast, we went to Wheeler Farm which I haven't been there in 20+ years. We went with our really good friend and a fellow photographer Jaymorr and his little girl Raegan.  It was a dual purpose of our trip, one was to look around the other was to get photos. To see a sneak peak of the photo shoot go to Jaymorr Photography he is a really good photographer and I would recomend him for photos anytime. He only has 2 pictures up as a teaser with more to follow. Feel free to leave him any comments that you like.

9 Years?

WOW! The old saying "Time flies when you are having fun" is true. Today it has been 9 wonderful years that Brett and I have been married. It has been a blast and it's only going to get better. I am so grateful for him. We are going to celebrate by going to dinner tonight and just relaxing.

We have a saying that is in our kitchen that says: "Those you laugh at themselves never cease to be amused."
In our home there is ALOT of laughter. I seriously have the BEST husband in the world. He knows exactly what I am thinking and knows how to cheer me up if I am sad. On Saturday and Sunday we went to Bountiful Pond so Brett could take some Macro photos. I seriously had so much fun with him. Some have told me that I like to chatter (which is true) the whole time we were there I just chatted away to him about nothing really while he took photos. I helped him look for bugs and watched with fascination when a blue darner dragonfly landed on a bush in front of him and he started shooting like crazy. The dragonfly stayed there for about 10 minutes. It was really fun to spend time with Brett in a element that he loves.

Pictures

Over the weekend Brett took some pictures, we both like them. We hope you enjoy
The whole time the only thing that was running through my mind was the song by Kenny Chesney, She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy.

When I got home from work last Wednesday Brett pulled out this shirt that he got for me. He thought it was pretty funny, so now he will say "Got Vizsla" and I will respond Yep I do.

Me being the nice wife that I am to Brett, I am helping him with his portfolio, by allowing him to take my photos.
Thanks Babe! They turned out GREAT!

Wet?

A common occurance in our home at night is to go into the back yard with the dogs and just relax.  We love our back yard. We have roses, if I can keep Dusty from eating them, we have tomato plants ( with a tomato on one of them). We love to just sit out there and watch Dusty and Sadie go crazy over chasing birds.  With this warm weather all of our roses are starting to bloom, it's made our back yard look awesome. I love to just go out there and look at them and relax after a LONG day at work.  We have been helping my parents with their garden this year and it's been a little tougher with us not living right next door to the garden. Sadie love to go down to the garden with me, the other night when I went down, I turned on the sprinklers to water, I started to weed not thinking and looked up to check on sadie and she was nowhere to be found. First thing I do is panick, Second thing I do is start to look around for her, where did I find her? Sadie was laying in the middle of the WET GRASS with the sprinklers going on all around her. It was a sight to see that is for sure, she must have been hot poor Bug. Lets just say it cooled her down and let me smell wet dog all the way home.

Fathers Day

This year for fathers day we packed up the dogs and headed to Idaho to see Brett's mom.  We had a ton of fun.  Dusty was in Seventh Heaven with all the birds up there. Sadie could have killed and rolled on a dozed garder snakes.  For Brett and I it was fun to see family and just relax and be with each other. Here are some of the pictures that Brett took.

.
Happy Father's Day to the 3 Father's in our lives. We love you.

Red!

I would like to introduce a new member to our family, I like to call him Big Red, but in reality his name is Dusty. He is 10 months old and a bundle of energy.  Sadie is getting used to him, she doesn't like him to touch her toys and loves to bark at him.

As you can tell he loves to chew on things.

Kaiser

We lost our beloved little pal on Sunday due to some complications to a surgery he had.  We will miss you super bad Kai.  We are already missing your antics. Thanks to the Doctors at the Animal Medical Clinic for taking care of our little guy.

Headaches?

Headache: A headache or cephalalgia is pain anywhere in the region of the head and or neck
So as I sit here on my couch watching Top Gear (which is a supberb show if you ask me) I am fighing YET again another headache.  For the past 2 weeks I have been getting headaches, they are not the mild headaches either, nope, nothing about me can be simple. These headaches are FULL BORE even when I am sleeping. As you can probably guess it makes it for a REAL pleasant day at work with no sleep and waking up with yet ANOTHER headache, I swear that is when everthing goes wrong.   I about lost it the other day at work. I took some stuff thinking that it would help and I swear that it made it worse, only it made me want to throw up everywhere.  Since I have been way busy at work, I couldn't leave, so true to my word I sat at my desk, pounding head and all, and continued to work.  Why am I getting these headaches you might ask??? I HAVE NO FREAKING CLUE.  When I take something for them, it doesn't work, it ususally just makes it a dull pain. I am hoping that they go away really soon, it's getting annoying that they won't go away.   I am grateful that I have the support of Brett. Without his support I would be lost. He has been so great when all I want to do is lie down, he will very willingly take care the puppies.

Spring

I have a saying in our house that goes like this: HURRY UP SPRING!
This is a understatement in our house, we are all(even including the dogs) ready for winter to be over and spring to be here.
It was nice to go outside and not be freezing cold. On Friday I took Sarah with me to go and find some flowers to plant in my front yard. We decided on Daisies. On Saturday Cooper came, with his Thomas the Train shirt and all, to help me plant the flowers (thanks to Marla and her fabulous idea) Cooper enjoyed looking for worms, I am proud to say that we found alot, I even touched them. I tried to plant a flower over a worm at one point and Cooper got so mad, he thought I was going to kill the worm, so the nice Aunt that I am, I picked the worm up, put it in his cup and then I planted the flower. Cooper also picked out where I planted the flowers, of course one had to be planted right next to his green dragon that he got from Mc Donalds. He didn't understand that the dragon was on the grass and I wasn't about to tear up the grass to plant a flower. Thanks to Marla and Nattalie for letting me take your kids for a day, we had lots of fun.
I am excited to go with Brett, again without freezing my butt off, to take photos. This is one of my favorite times of the year. I love just sitting outside with Brett and the pupps just soaking up the sun, and the dogs LOVE just chilling in our backyard.

Allergies

Dear Allergies,

Can you please go away and never return? I feel bad for Brett and Kaiser who you are with ALL year long. Poor Kaiser has to have allergy medication every 8 hours because you won't leave him alone. Please go away and NEVER return.

Sincerely

Colvin&Company

Already?

I can't beliee that it's March already. Time has flown by for us, I guess that is what happens when you are busy. Work for the both of us has been KRAZY busy. As I sit here blogging I hear "Kaiser down buddy" which means he has his paws on something he shouldn't. As Brett plays tug-o-war with a old sock with him. If you know Kaiser you know how much energy he has.

I am glad to say that we are both over our colds. Which is a good thing, the dogs have been super good while we have been sick. Sadie had some surgery last week and is almost up to full parr. As I was talking to my mom last week on the phone Sadie was crying, it was the most heart wrenching cry I have heard from a dog. Poor thing, I am SO glad she is getting better. Kaiser couldn't understand why she wouldn't play with him. The day we brought her home Kaiser like normal was demanding to be walked so I called my mom and she came up with my nephew Cooper to watch Sadie while I took Kaiser on a walk. When I got back Cooper kept telling me that Sadie was sad and sick. He is the cutest little guy.

Work like I said has been KRAZY busy the past month, it seems like we are both working long days and when the weekends come we just want to chill. There is light at the end of the tunnel, I know there is.

I am SO ready for spring to come so that I can work outside in the yard, while the dogs play. We are more than ready for some warm weather.

Over the next couple of months there will be MUCH needed vacations for the both of us, unfortunatly they will be seperate since one of us gets to stay home with our Bugs. Brett wil be going bone fishing and I will be headed to the "Happiest Place on Earth" of course Disneyland and to Southern California to visit with Dennis and Kathi which I am SO excited about.

Grateful

I am SO grateful that I have Brett in my life. He has been a real trooper while I have been sick. From helping around the house, helping with the dogs and always hearing I am NOT hungry, I think I owe him a big THANKS. My life wouldn't be the same without him in it. He is the one who makes me laugh and understands what I am talking about. He accepts me for who I am and doesn't expect me to change. I can say what I think and not have to sugar coat it. Heavenly Father knew exactally what he was doing when he put us together.
Happy Valentines Day babe. I love you!

Happy???

I know it's been a long time since I last posted. We are alive and some of us are doing well. Brett is happy and healthy, it's eagle season at Farmington bay and he is loving going up there and taking photos you can check them out here. He has done some amazing stuff this year, but I am his wife and I love all of his work. Sadie and Kaiser and happy and healthy they love our new home and can't get enough of running up and down the stairs. I know it sounds like we have 2 nutso dogs and maybe we do but we love them. Kiaser also loves to look at me right in the eye and just bark, while Sadie just lays in the chair giving him this look like "dude you are one crazy guy." As for me, well I was happy and healthy until Monday when I felt like I was getting sick, I was getting really bad headaches and my body would just hurt, I thought that it was the flu and that it would go away. WRONG!! By Wednesday I had no voice and my ears started hurting. Thursday it got worse, so I finally broke down and went to the doctor. I have a sinus infection and a double ear infection(there is some super long word for it) that only children get where your ears drain/bleed. I guess I still haven't grown up. The doctor was a little bit surprised to look in my ear and see what he saw. Lets just say that it's so bad that the right side of my face is numb and it KILLS when my ear is draining. On top of it all I have NO voice at all, not even a whisper, the doctor told me I need to stop talking for like 3 days. If you know me really well you know that this is going to kill me. I am the first to admit I LOVE to talk. I feel so bad for Brett. I know that I am not sleeping well, like today on my day off I was up at 5:15 AM that is insane. I know that I am keeping him awake at night and he is such a good sport and has been taking care of me. So goes the life in the Colvin household I know it could be much worse that what it is. I am very grateful for what I have in my life.

A little of this... A little of that.........

We had a great christmas this year in our new home with some new traditions that I hope we will keep in the years to come. We had the opportunity to go to the Roof restraunt on Christmas Eve with Jason and Lezlie Morrison it was super good. We then went to Lee's house to exchange gifts. On Christmas morning I got up and made breakfast, we had a cinnamon pull a part. I let Brett sleep in while I took care of the Dogs no matter what the day is they are up at the same time. We got simple gifts this year for each other, I got a Bose docking station for my ipod (which I love) and Brett got a gift card to Home Depot. We really enjoyed Christmas in our new home.

We have been doing lots of fun stuff, we went and saw Sherlock Holmes together which was awesome. I went with my Brothers family to see Alvin and the Chipmunks, Lezlie was nice enough to let Reagan and Brigham come with us. Brigham got to play with Kaizer and Sadie after the movie and was loving it. I then went with Lezlie to see Avitar and it was cool. We are going back to see it with Jason and Brett. Oh and lets not forget that we have both been sick. We hope you all had a good Christmas and New Years.
